The rate of return calculation method used to measure the actual performance of the separately managed accounts includes the change in market value of investments held, management fees, accrued incentive fees, interest, administration fees, and brokerage fees. The rate of return of the accounts is affected by the timing and size of deposits and withdrawals. This methodology is commonly used when determining the actual return of a portfolio.
Results for the Fund as compared to the performance of the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index (the “S&P 500”), the HFRX Macro: Systematic Diversified CTA Index (HFRXSDV), the HFRX Macro/CTA Index (HFRXM), SG CTA Index (SG CTA), and the Stock & Bond Portfolio are for informational and general comparative purposes only. The S&P 500 Index is an unmanaged market capitalization-weighted index of 500 common stocks chosen for market size, liquidity, and industry group representation to represent U.S. equity performance. The S&P U.S. Aggregate Bond Index is designed to measure the performance of publicly issued U.S. dollar-denominated investment-grade debt. The index is part of the S&P Aggregate Bond Index family and includes U.S. treasuries, quasi-governments, corporates, taxable municipal bonds, foreign agencies, supranational, federal agencies, and non-U.S. debentures, covered bonds, and residential mortgage pass-throughs. The Stock & Bond Portfolio comprises 60% S&P 500 Index and 40% S&P Aggregate Bond Index. It is commonly used as a reference point by investment professionals. The HFRX Macro: Systematic Diversified CTA Index is an index of Systematic Diversified strategies with investment processes typically as a function of mathematical, algorithmic and technical models, with little or no influence of individuals over the portfolio positioning. Strategies that employ an investment process designed to identify opportunities in markets exhibiting trending or momentum characteristics across individual instruments or asset classes.
